Assists in providing self-care training and therapeutic treatments ton residents diagnosed with mental illness. Trains residents in dailyn living skills. Converses with residents to reinforce positiven behaviors and to promote social interaction. Assists in mealn preparation and may eat with residents to act as a role model.n Observes and documents resident’s behaviors to help facilitaten assessment of treatment goals. This position may require use ofn personal vehicle to transport clients when an agency vehicle is not available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in the oversight of the maintenance of the communityn residence and its conformity to health and safety requirements.
Provides for the physical needs of each resident by the following means:
–Adequate food, shelter and clothing.
–Assists with medication management/training and the adherence ton physicians’ instructions.
Assists with securing residents medications and personal belongings
Reports to supervisor pertinent information concerning illnesses,n accidents, untoward events, staff difficulties, repair needs, etc.
Maintains the house in a clean and orderly fashion.
Assists with planning and preparing nutritionally sound meals on shift
Oversees the completion of housekeeping tasks and food preparation ton all residents.
Encourages residents through the completion of daily living skills
Assists in the delivery of restorative services as designated on then service plan.
Provides transportation for residents to other needed services withn the assistance of other staff.
Effectively handles crisis situations
Specific to the Night Shift: secures the residence forn the night; conducts bed checks as required; completes all tasksn assigned to the shift. This is an overnight AWAKE position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Preferred: Experience and/or training in the mental health field withn developmentally delayed, geriatric and co-occurring disorder clients.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must maintain valid driver’s license and provide proof of COVIDn Vaccination. Must maintain current Standard First Aid andn Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certifications. Must comply with alln training requirements.
