Part Time| 6:45AM-3:00PM| $13.50 an hour

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The primary responsibility of the Sales Associate is to obtain payment for goods by scanning items,itemizing and totaling customer's purchases, count money or change, and balances cash register with transactions. Other duties include cleaning list and assigned task sheets.

 

Primary Tasks:

 

Perform proper operation of cash registers and pump according to SOP standards.

Insure all purchases are properly rang into the cash register and accurately recorded.

Enters charges for all items, subtracts value of discounts, coupons, accepts payment of cash, personal check, credit and debit cards.

Perform general as well as specific merchandising duties including pricing and stocking, bagging ice and placing in the merchandiser, organization of the cooler and stockroom, and replenishing supplies in the deli area.

Perform all assigned task to complete the Operations Checklist as well as specific housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning both interior and exterior of the Travel Plaza.

Insure that all money is properly accounted for.

Protect all store inventory and equipment from theft and damage.

Checks identification when required by transaction.

Report all violations of rules and regulations to the proper authority.

This position requires physical maintenance and sanitation of the facility by being interactive and hands on with all cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation procedures.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

High School Diploma or GED preferred

Basic math skills

Ability to accept coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude.

Ability to function as a team member and get along with others

Ability and desire to follow training guidelines to assist in training new sales associates.

Ability and desire to follow training guidelines to assist in training proper procedures on cleaning the restrooms

Ability to be on feet 6+ hours per shift

Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Prior customer service experience preferred.

TARGET

High School Diploma or GED

ServSafe and Food Handler Certification

Ability to accept coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude.

Ability to run Trendar (if applicable) with efficiency.

Ability to handle and temp food products to make sure of their safety to the public.

Ability and desire to follow training guidelines to assist in training proper procedures on cleaning the restrooms

Ability to be on feet 6+ hours per shift

Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

One (1) year prior customer service experience
