This position will be located at East Hanover, NJ site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position may require up to 20% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/ or international). Please note that this role would not provide relocation assistance/support.

The Director, PSS Data, Insights and Decision Sciencerole will be responsible for leading data-driven insights and analytics that drive performance and shape the future of all Novartis Innovative Medicine patient onboarding and adherence programs at our Patient and Specialty Services (PSS) organization.

This individual will lead the strategic initiatives to leverage decision science and behavioral science to discover insights and identify opportunities to optimize patient onboarding and adherence programs. This individual will partner closely with business stakeholders and must possess strong communication skills in order to present results of complex analyses in a clear and actionable manner. This individual will be an adherence analytics/data expert for PSS, providing problem solving leadership to enable analytic-based solutions to business questions and challenges.

Major Accountabilities
•tProactively identifies business priorities/challenges and changes in the healthcare landscape impacting onboarding and adherence and translates into data performance metrics and advanced predictive analytics for adherence
•tConducts exploratory data analysis. Maintains and monitors adherence program reporting. Designs experiments and tests hypotheses. Applies advanced statistical and predictive modeling techniques to build, maintain and improve on real-time decision-making.
•tProvide input into design of adherence programs across brands by modeling impact of various options and design approaches, for example financial and behavioral segment impacts.
•tLeads discussions with external and internal vendors to ensure high standard of PSS data and analytics in adherence.
•tRapidly problem solves and resolve data and analytics challenges for adherence as needed, working closely with the Director PSS Data Effectiveness and Analytics, data stewards, IT, PSS Analytics franchise leads, brand teams and external partners.

Minimum requirements

What will you bring to the role
•tBS/BA required. Advanced degree in quantitative subject (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Behavioral Science, Social/Life Sciences) strongly preferred
•tAt least 8 years of experience in data science—working with and deriving insights from disparate, large data sets. Applying “big data” analytical approaches to derive recommendations and insights
•tExcellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. Strength in translating complex, technical analyses into clear and actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.
•tStrong business knowledge and mindset to provide guidance on how data can be applied to answer business questions. Prior experience supporting adherence, patient support or multi-channel marketing programs a plus.
•tExpertise and significant experience with statistical and data manipulation software and data visualization tools.
•tExpertise with a variety of statistical/data science techniques. Experience with machine learning a plus.
•tBackground in a analytics or a decision/behavioral sciences function and experience with advanced quantitative methods.
•tExcel in problem solving and develop innovative, resourceful solutions to complex, unstructured problems
