Construction Management Specialist
- Reviews project plans and specifications prior to contract advertisement to determine practicability from construction standpoint.
- Plans and schedules construction projects and conducts studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of construction work operations and contract activities.
- Attends pre-bid and pre-construction conferences to discuss construction features and requirements.
- Develops new or modified work methods, management processes, and procedures for construction.
- Responsible for monitoring construction progress and review.
- Confers with contractor representatives on matters pertaining to construction activities to resolve differences of opinion.
- Assists in the interpretation of and analysis of plans and specifications and provides support to engineering, surveying, and inspection personnel.

To qualify at the GS-11, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-9 level in federal service having demonstrated experience reviewing project plans and specifications; performing construction administration and contract management; planning and scheduling construction projects; visiting construction sites to monitor progress; recommending changes in schedules to accommodate on-site conditions or expedite construction; monitoring construction progress and review; and coordinating with contractors and inspectors to resolve differences. These examples are not all inclusive. You could otherwise qualify on the basis of Education having 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree OR Ph.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, OR a combination of education and experience.

Folsom, CA: $72,539 – $94,296
Fresno, Los Banos, & Willows, CA: $66,214 – $86,074
Hollister, CA: $81,338 – $105,733
The salary will be determined by the duty location of the selectee.
