As Site Manager you will be accountable for leading, developing and maintaining operational effectiveness through the minimization of costs whilst providing excellent customer service, and maintaining high staff morale. You will be responsible for recognizing and responding to business needs ensuring strong corporate governance, business development and high return on invested capital.

Key Responsibilities:


Responsible for the management of multi-dimensional business operations effectiveness and business continuity plans.

Convene daily operations discussions with operational team.

On a daily/weekly basis review operational reports and sign-off on discrepancies.

Produce weekly and monthly operational reports with explanation and corrective action on performance.

Manage operational KPI’s ensuring that high service levels are maintained.


Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and submit to Finance Department.

Authorize expenditure within authority levels.

Compile Annual Budgets with regards to revenue, cost and business expectations.

Compile and present compelling business cases to the Area Depot Manager in respect of CAPEX purchases.

Effective management of budget and expenditure, ensuring that the branch achieves a profit year on year.

Full accountability for the Profit & Loss of the site.


Identify and pursue new business opportunities with assistance from Commercial team.

Implement SLA's with key clients and monitor compliance on a daily/weekly and monthly basis.

Develop sound relationships with key stakeholders and relevant bodies.

Key account management to include customer relationship management.

HSSE & Risk

Recognize and respond to the needs of the business in respect of HSSE and risk management, ensuring that preventative measures are in place.

Implement and maintain operational legal compliance in respect of Health, Safety, Security and Environment.

Manage risk of the business through effective security controls and procedures.

Implement and drive HSSE initiatives to be industry leaders with regards to safety and security.


Identify and address training needs on an annual basis and monitor monthly.

Review staff compliments and establish development plans/succession plans with the assistance of HR.

Effective people management through maintaining a culture of motivation and respect.

Develop and build employee engagement through action plans and assistance from HR.

Who we are looking for:

Appropriate tertiary qualification, preferably in logistics.

At least 5 years’ experience in Branch Management capacity.

Excellent knowledge of logistics & transport/rail/trucking operations.

Experience with Reefer containers is advantageous.

Possess effective analytical, people, reporting and problem-solving skills.

Financial acumen.

Has a proactive approach to business development.

High energy levels and must possess a passion for logistics and people.

Requires ability to use computerized operation software system(s).

Has full knowledge of international standards of safe working practices within the industry as well as occupational health and safety laws.
